Simfoni Tail Spend team delivers OS&E packages for the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum
Simfoni Tail Spend managemnt team of professionals were given responsibility to source a wide range of Operational Supplies and Equipment (OS&E) and Furniture Fittings and Equipment (FF&E) for the new Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi, which opens its doors to the public on the 11th November, 2017.
Working on behalf of long-standing client Abu Dhabi Department of Tourism and Culture, Simfoni has been providing a managed procurement service to source over 2,600 OS&E and FF&E items with a special emphasis on accelerating supply market research to source specialist items and equipment from Europe and the US due to the absence of suitable suppliers in the Middle East region.
The team worked to define specifications and sourcing packages, which included ticketing equipment, fire engines and firefighting equipment, electric vehicles, heavy lifting equipment, IT equipment and accessories, audio visual, staging and scaffolding, X-ray machines, art supplies and a wide array of furniture and fit out items.
The programme ranged from full strategic sourcing services for complex items to rapid RFQs run for commodity items.
The Simfoni Tail Spend Management team had to maintain close dialogue with overseas bidders – supporting multiple European languages – to ensure that they complied with the client processes and submitted compliant bids within tight lead times.

Due to the tight time constraints, Simfoni also provided a full logistics and order expediting service, to oversee customs clearance and supplier deliveries to site.
The team which is experience in tail spend management will now develop catalogues for items that will need to be replenished frequently incorporating lead times and costs thus providing invaluable support to the Louvre team who need to maintain stock of specialist supplies.
The official opening on the 8th November was led by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and the French President Emmanuel Macron.
