Role Responsibilities

Simfoni is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing corporate accounting team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both public accounting and corporate accounting, possess an in-depth understanding of GAAP, and hold a CPA certification. As an Accounting Manager at Simfoni, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensure all reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• General Ledger Oversight: Manage the general ledger, oversee month-end and year-end close processes, and perform account reconciliations. Ensure the integrity of financial data and resolve discrepancies as needed.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, including GAAP. Coordinate with external auditors during audits and respond to any queries related to financial statements and internal controls.
• Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and safeguard company assets.
• Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, and work with the tax department to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Provide variance analysis and offer insights to senior management regarding financial performance.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend process improvements to optimize operations, reduce errors, and enhance productivity.
• Team Supervision: Lead and mentor junior accounting staff. Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure continuous development of the accounting team.
• System Management: Oversee the use of accounting software and ensure that financial data is accurately captured and processed. Participate in system upgrades and ensure that the team is properly trained on any new tools or processes.

Requirements

We employ high-performing individuals with strong interpersonal and communication skills. We are looking for individuals who are/ have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, including both public accounting and corporate accounting environments.
• Strong knowledge and experience applying GAAP to financial reporting.
• Previous experience with preparing financial statements and managing the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
• Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and team members.
• Experience working in a remote and multicultural environment preferred.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in the tech or software industry is a plus.
