Role Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting Support
- Update monthly financial reporting files with actuals general ledger data extracted from NetSuite and other internal systems
- Reconcile financial data between NetSuite exports and internal FP&A models, identifying discrepancies and flagging issues
- Prepare and maintain reporting templates (e.g., Revenue and Cost monthly review templates)
- Support updates of historical financial information into new operating models
- Assist with data preparation for system implementations (e.g., NetSuite Planning and Budgeting)
- Extract financial reports from NetSuite and prepare structured datasets used for FP&A reporting and forecasting models
Data Integrity & Quality Control
- Identify and flag discrepancies in revenue, payroll, and operating expense data
- Assist with validation of financial data used in internal reports and presentations to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Support Finance and Accounting teams with data hygiene initiatives (e.g., department mapping, vendor naming conventions, and descriptions)
Monthly Close Support
- Perform first-pass monthly variance analysis including Actual vs Budget, Actual vs Forecast, and month-over-month performance trends to support Finance team performance reviews
Model & Reporting Maintenance
- Assist with improvements to financial reporting templates and FP&A models
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounting teams to obtain finalized financial data for reporting cycles
- Support documentation of reporting processes and model structures to improve scalability and consistency
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automate manual reporting processes using advanced Excel functionality and other data tools
Ad Hoc Support
- Assist the Finance team with ad hoc data preparation and reporting requests
Technical Skills
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to manage large amounts of data using excel
- Advanced Excel required including pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, & HLOOKUP Functions
- Exposure to financial modeling, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and complex Excel functions preferred
- Understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, product margins) is a plus
- Familiarity with NetSuite preferred but not required
- Knowledge of building graphs and use of PowerPoint
- Experience with Software As a Service (SaaS) preferred but not required
Other Skills and Considerations
- Strong communication and proactive status updates to bridge time-zone differences.
- Curiosity about the business and willingness to understand the context behind financial data.
