In May, we held a special event in Central London for industry leaders to explore where the procurement and supply chain sector is heading. We were pleased and honored to have Jason Busch, the founder of SpendMatters.com, join us from Chicago as our special guest speaker.
Jason went over the current state of global economics and covered a variety of related topics, such as how a strengthening dollar and declining Euro have affected market growth throughout the world, particularly in Europe.
After addressing this topic, Jason went over his top 10 prophesies for where procurement is headed. These predictions, while related, addressed a number of problems and trends, such as the increasing use of mobile devices and how looking beyond the initial tier of the supply chain to analyze spend, risk management, and sourcing is becoming increasingly important.
One of the other highlights of Jason’s address was when he talked about how and why organizations need to embrace mobile interconnected and advanced analytics platforms to come up with supply chain solutions that boast complete assimilation. At the conclusion of Jason’s presentation, an engaging discussion about the impact of digital commerce and technologies, as well as a debate among senior level attendees about defining procurement’s role within an organization, arose.
Overall, this event was a huge success thanks to Jason Busch and all those in attendance. We look forward to many more events like this in the future as the procurement industry continues to progress.
